Tiny Houses Construction Begins on Microcottage Housing Development for Seniors

LAKELAND — Construction has begun on Lakeland’s newest affordable-housing community for seniors.
With ceremonial flair, community leaders extolled the attributes of the Micro-Cottages at Williamstown during a groundbreaking exercise Tuesday morning.
“It’s a wonderful thing for the community; all (48) units will be handicap adaptable,” said Michael Pimentel, chairman of the Lakeland Housing Authority, which is developing the project with $6 million in federal public-housing funds.
