INVITATION FOR BID for CONSTRUCTION OF MICRO-COTTAGES AT WILLIAMSTOWN

 

The Housing Authority of the City of Lakeland will accept sealed bids from Florida-licensed and qualified General Contractors and Residential Contractors with, at least, five years of relevant experience for the: 

CONSTRUCTION OF MICRO-COTTAGES AT WILLIAMSTOWN 1450 Kennedy Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 

The project will consist of converting a currently-wooded 3 acre property into a community consisting of: 24 duplex structures, a community building, parking lots, and other related improvements. 

Bid Packages may be requested by emailing Dawn Patterson at Wallis Murphey Boyington, Architects, Inc.--dawnpatterson@wmb-roi.com.  All requests must include: the name of the potential bidder requesting the information, the name of the contact person, and a phone number. 

A Bidders’ Conference will be held on: 

September 03, 2015 at 09:00 a.m., Eastern Time, in the LHA Board of Commissioners meeting room, 430 Hartsell Avenue, Lakeland, Florida. 

A Bid Bond or Cashier’s Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid must be submitted with the bid. 

The Bid—must consist of one original bid signed in blue ink and two photocopies--must be delivered in a sealed envelope(s) by 10:00 a.m., Eastern Time, September 24, 2015, to:

The outside of the sealed envelope(s) must indicate the name and address of the Bidder.
Any bid transmitted by facsimile or electronic mail will not be considered.  All bids and accompanying material will become the property of The Housing Authority of the City of Lakeland and will not be returned to the bidder. 

Submitted bids will be opened and publicly read aloud on September 24, 2015 at 10:00 m., Eastern Time, in the Board of Commissioner’s meeting room of The Housing Authority of the City of Lakeland, 430 Hartsell Avenue, Lakeland, Florida.  All interested parties are invited to attend.
 
The successful bidder will be required to ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, disability, gender, or national origin as well as to comply with the requirements of the Davis-Bacon and related labor acts; Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968; and the Housing Authority’s Section 3 and Minority and Woman Business Enterprise Policy. 

Minority and Woman Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) and Section 3 firms are strongly encouraged to respond to this and all Housing Authority of the City of Lakeland projects, programs, and services.
